Day  9 – Capture Attention by Creating a Truly Novel Experience!

Volvo – Volvo X-RAY from La Comunidad on Vimeo.

Here’s another creative use of Augmented Reality technology, this time by Volvo. Their X-Ray application, created for the Geneva Auto Show, gave smartphone users the ability to explore the interior and mechanics of their latest cars, and discover exciting features not visible to the naked eye by pointing their phones at the black triggers spread throughout the show. This application combines the novelty of Augmented Reality, with exciting futuristic technology like X-ray vision to create an unforgettable display.

Choose the Right Substrate for the job

Visual targets printed on substrates around the trade show triggered this exciting augmented reality experience. Digitally printable substrates are a great choice of material for printing these targets. Some inexpensive and lightweight options that can be easily displayed and repositioned are Coroplast Corrugated Board, Ultra Board Plus Foamboard or the more environmentally friendly Converd Board.

Stay Tuned!

Check back tomorrow for Day 10 – Addictive Augmented Reality Games!
