For their 2012 ad campaign, Volkswagen decided that the new modern look of their 2012 Volkswagen Beetle deserved a new and futuristic approach so they decided to use Augmented Reality to bring attention to their ads. Relatively ordinary looking billboards and bus shelter ads sprung to life on smartphone and tablet screens everywhere. The extra content featured the new Beetle flying off ramps, speeding through tunnels and crashing through walls, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary!
